An artists glimpse of her home and old Russia :
Russian concert pianist Elena Selezneva and Peter Tchaikovsky have an important commonality, both lived in the beautiful and truly authentic Russian township of Klin, a community steeped in artistic history.
After relocating from Saint Petersburg Tchaikovsky lived in Klin until his death in 1993, it is where he composed his last major work the monumental 6th Symphony and the birth place of Elena Selezneva.
Tchaikovsky, the first Russian composer whose music was to make a lasting international impression became a major influence in Elena’s life and artistic development.
Elena will premiere her all Russian program at Lucas Parklands, a concert inspired by and dedicated to her colourful musical heritage and love of “Mother Russia”.
Elena’s recital includes music composed by:
Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rubinstein,Glinka,Liadov,Scriabin and Medtner.
